The elaboration of Aya Uma went through a gradual process, with much research into Ecuadorian culture. The costumes were adapted and made part of his anatomical figure. Clay Modeling, Casting in Plastic, Plaster Model, Hand-Painting Face, Silicone Injection.

04

Kitchen - Drafting

The set design is based on the Church "La Basílica del Voto Nacional" in Quito, Ecuador, and the character represents an Ecuadorian spirit against the Catholic religion implemented by the Spanish in 1534. The research for this project is based on the church's Gothic architecture from the 1880s.

05

Kitchen - Design

The design process and conceptualization are designed in 3D with the technological use of SketchUp.

06

Kitchen - Rendering

The lighting and rendering were done in SketchUp using the V-Ray plugin.

07

Motion Test and Stop Motion

A test video was made using only the puppet's armature. Finally, a reference video was created for frame-by-frame animation using DragonFrame. A small animation of the puppet was made, a temporary set was set up, lighting was designed, and it was time to photograph!
